Why should post-secondary education be free?
Why shouldn’t it be free?

Should maybe just the undergraduate degree be fully or partially paid for while charging full tuition for graduate school?

What do you guys think? A good thorough list of your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I know using funds from an IRA to pay for qualified education expenses are accepted and not penalized. However, I have a mortage and will need some cash to help pay it. “Room and Board” is a qualified expense but how would this work in my situation?

I would like to go to School in France.

But I have some questions.

Someone told me that education, including universities, is free and paid for by the government. Is this true?

Also if it is true, does this apply to people with only student visas, or must you be a citizen?

Finally, how expensive is a student visa?

Thanks!

I’am going to community college to get my grades up and to kind of get back in school mode after taking my 1st year off, i now have some idea’s of what i want to do later on in life, but they require university. I don’t know if i should go to university or not because i’am scared of getting into debt, i ‘am already going to be 10 grand in debt after communty college, i ‘am scared that i will fail university and have to end up quitting or take an extra year and be more and more in debt. Also my friend is in university now and she has got student loans to pay for her university education but she found out in her 2nd term that student loans isn’t going to give her enough money to cover everything she needs, so she had to get a bank loan and it’s charging her interest everyday. So i ‘am also scared i wont get enough money and i’ll have to get a bank loan than the interest will be crazy by the time i could pay it off.

I ‘am looking at taking human services at community college thn my 2nd year in child and youth care, thank if i go to university i was thinking of taking a bachelor of arts major psychology and minor in sociology than once i graduate from that either take a master of psychology or get my bachelor of education degree so i can become a career counsellor or if i had taken my masters in psychology than become a child and youth therapist.

If you have ever droped out of university how did you pay back the loans or are you still paying??

any advise would be awesome.

Does anyone get free education there? Here in Canada, the native people (ie-First Nations) are offered university for free. I want to know if it’s the same in the U.S. thanks
I want to know both about high school AND unversity.

Getting a degree from Harvard is typically quite applauded compared to most average colleges.

I noticed that our school district recently hired a teacher who graduated from Harvard. The teacher will get the same salary as other teachers.

Would you like your kid to have exposure to teachers from prestigious universities? Do these teachers deserve the same pay or better pay?

How likely are our schools to attract more accomplished teachers if we pay them the same salary as other teachers?

Or, is getting a teacher from a prestigious university not worth while?

If you wanted to become a teacher, would you be wasting a ton of your own money if you went to a top-tier university instead of another college for your education since your pay likely won’t be any better?

Do Dems end up giving us mediocrity by supporting teachers unions?

My son is finishing his first 2 years of college and would love to attend Columbia University College of Education in NY – however, we can barely afford to send him the the university he is attending currently. IS it even possible for him to get enough financial aid/scholarships to go to Columbia? I don’t want him to graduate with alot of debt and then be a teacher on a teachers salary cannot pay back student loans on that salary. How do I break his heart because we are middle class people who believe there is no way he can attend this university. We ar ein the middle class bracket earn too much for grants but cannot afford to pay for Columbia University. Any advice for me as a parent?

I’m planning on going for an AA degree in English but I don’t know if there’s anything at all out there for me. I mean I hear ppl say there’s not much. So if I can’t find a job with that college degree than how can I pay for my university education?

I’m really struggling with that right now. The truth is
I can’t transer to a university because I can’t get financial aid or scholarships due do resident status.

I mean I want to be someone important in life and I’m working hard but I have many obstacles. And then if I ever get the AA how will I even get a job permit in this situation?

I might as well let it go and continue working minimum wage. Maybe this was not meant for me…

I need some encouragement and advise… so please help.. thanks
