I talked to an Army recruiter about going in as an Officer and he told me that if I wanted to get a masters or MBA or basically take any class, the Army would pay for 100% of it. Can any Army officer vouch for this?

I am planning to get an MA in Military History through American Military University and then get an MBA through Thunderbird SGM online.

I am a teacher in California. I have my Master’s in special education as well as my Education Specialist credential that I completed in 2003. I have been teaching for over 7 years now. Last year I completed my reading specialist credential and I am an exam away from having my second Master’s degree.

My parents and grants through the department at my university paid for most of my first Master’s. I paid for most of the second one. My Education Specialist credential is about to expire and I want to renew it so that I can keep everything current. Doing that would require me to take 16 more units of courses. Each unit at Santa Clara University where I have completed all my other work costs over $400. This would cost me around $6,500 not including books and other expenses. I could do it at other universities that aren’t much less expensive, but they are farther away and less convenient. And I’ve got a 1 year old son at home.

How am I going to pay for this????
When I was doing my last Master’s program I went to financial aid to ask for scholarships, but they told me that they didn’t give them for graduate programs. What sense does that make?

Do you know of any grants or scholarships that are given for teachers renewing credentials or furthering education? I have looked in the past but been unsuccessful at finding anything.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks, Alan J! Sounds great! ; -)

I work for a public school district, so they’re not going to pay for it.

How much college benefits does the Air Force give you? After the USAF, I plan on going on to four-year college at Ohio State University, then getting a master’s and then a PhD. How much of this will they pay? Am I on my own after I get my bachelor’s?

Or am I ridiculous to even think they’d consider paying for graduate school?

I am in high school and choosing my electives. A big influence on my decsion will be what i want to do after high school. My parents have absolutely no money to help me pay for university, and some of my money from my part time job goes to simply keeping a roof over our family. Anyways, i won’t be able to save much for university but its something i really want to explore. I’m looking into becoming an optometrist, but it will take 7 years. Will financial aid, (federal, provincial, and from banks) be enough to pay my way through university?

My cost of living won’t be to high as i am use to quite a basic lifestyle. If this all doesn’t work out I am going to take Auto Mechanics and fix cars :(

A few weeks ago, thousands of university students took to the streets after the English government proposed increasing university tuition from about $2,000 to $5,000. The government claims that this increase in tuition fees is necessary in order to increase college resources, and develop the curriculum, for instance. However, if education is a right, then should the government be responsible to pay the fees? In contrast to America, in Europe, university education is heavily subsidized by taxpayers, which impacts the schools’ independence and standards. On the other hand, if education is a privilege, then who should be responsible for paying for students’ university education? Parents? If so, would this bill compromise the educational opportunities of students from working-class backgrounds to attend universities? The English government claims that it would provide loans to cover tuition costs to the poorest students. But how long would the financial aid package stretch?

Apart from having to learn the language, pay for boarding and living expenses, are there other hidden costs?

tuition costs. they deposti the money into a RESP account so that no tax is payable on the interest income. this RESP account provides a return of 6 percent per year.

1. how much will jane’s account be worth when she begins her university studies?

2. as an incentive to save for higher education, the government will add 20 percent to any money contribute to an RESP each year. including these grants, how much will Jane have in her account?

She is taking nursing program as her major, and I still study in language institude.Every semester my sister can get 3.65-4.00 for her final grade. Because she studies at college, she has to move to university in order to get bachelor degree. The problem is,my parents dont have enought money for her to study in university. If my parents could pay her education in university, how about me?? Should I back to my country althought I really want study in USA?? Are there any solutions for us??
